For that one to work, Vizzini would have had to be the one who gave the poison(and said it was iocane). It was actually Wesley who was carrying the poison with him. Wesley wasn’t lucky, he kept the poison with him for just such occasions.

MAS*H - Ceasefire!

Medea “You want to divorce me for another woman? Fine… but you’re taking the kids while I go get my groove back!”

Three’s Company “I think I must have missed the first part of the conversation.”

The Excorcist “There’s no easy way to tell you this… we’ve checked with priests and other experts, and your daughter has what we like to call ‘Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder’…”

:smack:

I’ve thought about that Princess Bride scenario too. Vizzini could actually have easily won. Wesley was certain that his plan would succeed, which is why he actually looked away when Vizzini switched the cups, and why he drank first. All Vizzini had to do was put his own poison in the cup he gave Wesley. Then after Wesley drank first, Vizzini would never have drank his cup, he would have just laughed.

Nighttime: Truely you have a dizzying intelect.

Actually, Goldfinger lets him go, so him leaving would actually have doomed bond.
