Don’t blame me! I didn’t name the thing; however, I am now addicted to it. There’s a type of logic problem/puzzle called SlitherLink (variants: Slitherlink, Slither Link) in which the maso…er, vic…, er aspiring solver determines which sides of the squares in the puzzle (which resembles the classic Dots & Boxes game) must be filled in and which sides must be blank. Some, but not all, of the boxes have clues in them, the clues being a number from 0 to 3 informing you that the box with the number in it has that number of sides filled in. The other rules are that there can be no boxes with four sides filled in, the filled in lines must make one continuous closed loop, and that there can be no branching off (T or cross intersections) from that loop.
As I said above, I am no addicted to it. Alas, I have yet to sove any of the puzzles. Does anyone here have any experience with this thing? Any suggestions on how to solve it?
