These apps take forever to load on our TV. 30-40 seconds, often longer, to get to the point where you can pick a show or search. Another 20-30s seconds for the that show to load. . . Is the speed problem due to out cable/internet provider? The box?
Unrelated but equally frustrating - one (or both) have the stupid keyboard where the search is letter-by-letter using the cursor. No voice search.
Is your TV an older Vizio smart TV? We replaced ours about five years ago because it stopped updating its apps due to some licensing issues, making them very slow to load. A work around would be to use a Fire stick or Roku device.
That would be my guess too. My smart TV can take varying amounts of time to load Prime/Netflix and sometimes what feels like a long time (30+ seconds).
If I go to my PC and start those they popup immediately with no fuss.
Older Smart Vizios did turn out to be duds. We’re all Firestick now. My main TV stopped being usefully smart about 5 or 6 years ago.
Overall, I’m pretty happy with the Firesticks, especially once I added some extra memory. They work very well now. Also have voice control for most apps which is handy.
Back when I had Comcast/Xfinity the cable box they provided included most of the popular streaming apps. Most of them worked fine, but for some reason the Paramount+ app was frequently very slow to load. After I cut the cord and replaced the cable box with a Roku I’ve had no problems with it or any other apps. So I concur that it’s most likely the device or smart TV.
The TV is a Sony. I’m not sure of the model but its at least five years old. No complaints about theTV, itself. We had a Firestick years ago but haven’t used it since we got this TV. Sometimes, the Comcast non-streaming is very slow to respond. For instance, I’ll hit the “guide” button and nothing happens for 10-15 seconds. Overall I’d rate my entire TV watching experience somewhere around a 5. Not terrible but way more technical issues than there should be, IMHO.
