Back in my college days (late 80’s) in Madison I recall howwe used to go around and smack light poles and about 50% of the time the light would go out. WE had a lot of WAGs as to why this was, one being that it was meant for if a car hit the pole it wouldno longer be popwered. Is this common and if so why does it happen?
