Small Computer Question--Very Simple, But I Can't Recall How

When I hit my backspace key, it deletes stuff. That’s cool.

But suddenly, when I hit my spacebar, it deletes what is in front of the cursor, 1 character at a time. NOT cool.

How do I fix this?

I used to know, but I can’t recall.

Try tapping the ‘insert’ key. That usually toggles ‘overtype’ mode on and off… if overtype is on, then your new spaces are REPLACING the character that was in front of the cursor.

Correct, and this will work on a large computer too.
