**Smallville - **
This is an excellent show. Last season’s finale left me on the edge of my seat, and this season’s was just as good. I am not overly fond of Pa Kent, and Tom Welling’s acting could be better, but they both conveyed exactly what you were meant to feel.
I wasn’t suprised when Helen relented and became Mrs. Luthor, and did think something was up with that look she gave Lex as she offered him champagne, but, my God! I didn’t think she would try to kill him! And Chloe has turned into a major bitch! (Not that there’s anything wrong with that). Perhaps she will beat the crap outta Lana during the summer. One can only hope. And how the hell are the Kents going to explain that huge honking hole in the field?
Gilmore Girls -
It amazes me that I so love a show where nothing really happens. I didn’t cry at the Angel finale last week, didn’t shed a tear for Buffy, Smallville hasn’t made me cry yet, but let Rory get up on stage and give her speech, and I, like her little Stars Hollow family, was blubbering like a baby. One minor nit-pick. How did Lorelai think that $75,000 would make a dent in Yale tuition? I checked on the Yale website during a commercial, just out of curiosity. Over $40,000 a year. Rory should have been able to obtain financial aid even with the $75K bonus.
The grandparents are incredibly generous, and Lorelai should realize that it is normal for them to want to spoil their only grandchild. Just because she has a screwed up relationship and suspects everything they do does not mean she should pass that paranoia to Rory.
