I’m not sure if this is in the right forum but it doesn’t really feel like a General Question so…
How much battery does your display use?
I recently bought a Samsung Galaxy S and since I first got it I haven’t stopped fiddling around with it and as such I get abysmal battery performance. After checking in the settings it looks as though the display is the no. 1 culprit for draining my battery, so just out of curiosity I figured out that my SGS uses 0.3 of a percent of battery power for each minute the display is on.
This means for each hour the display is on the battery expends 18% of battery power, as such the battery will be fully expended if the display is on for 5,5 hours even without the other uses of the phone. (including calling, texting, etc.)
So what I really want to know is which part of the bell curve does my dispay’s battery use fall into. Good? Normal? Bad? (and as I suspect) Seriously bad? What sort of mileage do you get out of your smartphone?
Just to have a thorough(ly boring :p) post:
Present phone battery charge : 55%
% of energy used by display : 69% (checked from settings > about phone > battery use )
Display up time: 1h 44m (checked from settings > about phone > battery use )
Display brightness : 0%
Battery expended by display :
Battery expended : 100% - 55% = 45%
Display battery use percentage : 69% * 45% = 31%
Display up time : 1h 44m = 104m
Battery use (display)/minute : 31% / 104
= 0.2985% / minute
