I dropped my LG Volt the other day, and I didn’t see any problems until I tried to use the camera today. My carrier is VirginMobile, so they don’t have any store for me to take it to. This phone is now on sale for $80, so am I better off just replacing it, or might it be fixable for less than that?
How comfortable are you with opening up your phone and tinkering around the insides with the help of some YouTube videos? It’s probably fixable for less than that, but the minimum cost for a lot of cell phone repair shops is a significant chunk towards the $80.
When I take the back off, there’s nothing much to see except the battery, the camera lens and maybe a light meter or something, and a lot of teeny tiny screws that probably hold everything together. So no, I’m pretty ham-handed. I guess I’ll have to take it down to the only phone shop I know and see what they say about it.
