Chocolate-covered dill pickles.
Summer - orange blossom scent. Surprisingly hard to find, straight orange blossom spray, kept in the refrigerator, is what I douse myself with after every shower on a hot summer day. (it doesn’t last, though).
Winter - Nantucket Briar perfume from Crabtree & Evelyn. I wear it and use scented oil on a light bulb ring. Incensey cinnamon rose.
Those are the nice scents - more typical, I probably smell like cooked hamburger, bacon, and fries since that’s ALL anyone wants to eat around here.
I’m pretty sure it does (old urine, cigarette smoke, and jujubes, maybe?). ![]()
I think my signature scent would be grapefruits. I *adore *the smell of grapefruits - go to the supermarket and take a big whiff of the grapefruit bin next time you’re there - they smell wonderful. Or maybe tomato plants - I could live with being associated with the smell of tomato plants. They smell great, too.
My scent is probably burning rosin.
Actually, it’s quite a pleasant smell, and I generate it all the time when soldering.
Bergamot. A really fresh, high notes only preparation. The trouble with these is they only last a few minutes.
Me, personally? Seaweed, dead fish, and sunblock.
Too French.
Actually sounds appealing.
Replace jujubes with Hostess cupcakes and that might be what I do smell like. Blackjack is a super sniffer and could tell me, but for some reason he chooses not to verbalize in English.
High desert at midday - hot granite, sage, a hint of creosote, a little pine, maybe a background of water running over granite river rocke.
Probably pink grapefruit; really wakes you up in the morning…
The scent that takes me to a certain person every time is hairspray. Boom! I’m in grandma’s house getting ready to go out to… anywhere. The park, the post office, the corner store… Any time we went outside, she had to frenshen her lipstick and spray her hair. Even her car smelled like hairspray.
Mmmmmm… hairspray…
I guess I’d want my scent to remind people of freshly baked bread.
(pause)
Is it just me, or has anyone else ever noticed that some guys’ B.O. smells like a MacDonalds quarter-pounder with cheese? (I’m serious.)
.
I use orange flower water. You can get it in some Middle Eastern specialty stores and baking catalogues, and it is one of the few fragrances that does not give me a migraine. I don’t keep it in the refrigerator, but that’s a good idea.
Oh yeah, you reminded me of one - my mom’s purse always smelled like Juicyfruit gum when I was a kid.
Honeysuckle. My favorite scent in the world is the smell of the night air in the summertime, which is mostly honeysuckle, green foliage, and asphalt. I’ll leave smelling like asphalt to any salty truckers around here, and keep the honeysuckle.
Rain
I smell of vodka and regret.
I do like the smell of Old Spice, although I suspect most find it cheap and tacky… it reminds me of schooldays, the 6th form boys used to reek of it.
If I smell it on a grown man now, it makes me think he is a bit clueless and eager-to-please. Which are very appealing qualities, in my book!
Ooh! Petrichor! (See, you can learn something by watching Doctor Who.)
It also makes a great 40th (50th, whatever) birthday gift. “Here. I couldn’t find any Ancient Spice, so I got you this…” :0)
I used to use some perfume that smelled like honeysuckle; somebody liberated it. So I got some called “Vanilla Summer.” Smells like coconut oil and very beachy. If’ve got to get something else for the winter…fast.
These aren’t perfumes but I still have my mother’s face powder and it’s “her smell.” My grandmother smelled like camomille. They say memories are most strongly triggered by sense of smell, and I believe it.
I thought it was spelled “anus.”
my favorite lilac bush
herbal essences shampoo
and maybe sugar cookies
