Here comes the good part…
Hey, how’d y’all do that?
Is that . . . oh wait. . . I think I see it in my “Font” selector in the ‘Reply to Thread’ menu:
Yup. Seems to work.
Pretty slick!
Tripler
Okay, that last one was probably a bit much.
Well, a different post in ATMB convinced me to post the following:
Besides testing how the Webdings font works, the reason why it is posted is to test if webdings shows up in different platforms, AFAIK it should work in Windows and mac OS (over 10.0 on Macs)
I can confirm that it is not working on my Palm Clie machine. If the graphics are not showing, you are invited to post your computer specks.
I’m not seeing ‘webdings’ in the dropdown menu for fonts. I can see the images, except for Tripler’s. Where do you get the images?
I’m on Mac Tiger.
You have to do a little bit of force:
To make the Webdings work you have to go to your character map, in Webdings copy the symbol you need.
Paste the symbol in the preview window: “)” that is a speech ballon symbol, we need to tell the SDMB that it is a webding.
Then you surround the symbol with any font, like Arial:
{FONT=Arial])[/FONT} . (curly brackets to show what you see in preview)
Then replace the font name with “webdings”:
{FONT=webdings])[/FONT}
Then add carrots, onions… oops wrong thread… add color, sizes and other graphics an smilies.

Comprende?
BTW, Tripler was just experimenting with the fonts already in the dropdown menu, not the graphics.
Works in IE but not in Netscape or Firefox for me on XP.
Not working here. Firefox on Linux, BTW.

Shit! Playing in preview and hit submit. My bad.
