Smoke Gets in Your Pies (or pork roasts, or turkeys, or briskets....)

Well, not pies as such - but I just bought myself a smoker. A Weber Smoky Mountain Cooker, to be precise.

So I need help, advice, tips, recipes, the whole shebang. What books are good for novice smokers? How do I add a decent thermometer to this puppy? Why do I have to wait 2 days for it to be delivered when I want it NOW.

Beautiful.

Trust me and follow this man’s 5-step WSM program. You will not regret it. Do not get sidetracked or confused by doing too many things at once. Do all five cooks, in order, exactly as stated on that site, and then move on to experimentation.

That site looks pretty damned close to perfection for me. Thank you!

I will add one thing. When I built my SmokeMaster 1000, I invested about $20 more and got a wireless thermometer that measures the temperature in the smoking chamber and a second probe for the meat. Well worth it.
