Smoking One Joint a Month... Good for You?

i’ve heard some study found that smoking one joint a month could have positive effects; but i’ve never heard what these positive effects are. does anyone know?

NOTE: this thread is in no way intended to promote smoking marijuana. it’s illegal; and i’m sure the “positive effects” can’t weigh out all the problems it can cause.

Well, I don’t know specifics… It increases the heart-rate like tobacco, but has been compared to aerobic exercise since pot dilates the blood vessels and lungs unlike nicotine, which does the opposite and basically just puts more strain on the heart. Cannabinoids play a big role in the brain’s stress recovery system–I suppose blowing off steam is a positive effect. THC is a dopamine antagonist; if you really wanted to stretch it, you could maybe argue that regular pot dosings could cause dopamine upregulation, which would be helpful in treating social anxiety and schizophrenia, and foster a general sense of well-being in a person, but once a month is way too infrequent. It’s also (obviously) a cannabinoid agonist, and since cannabinoids play a role in removing unimportant short-term memories, it could be argued by down-regulation of cannabinoid receptors, when sober, one’s short-term memory is BETTER as a pot smoker.

But, out of curiosity, what problems do you think toking once a month could cause, anyway?

My God, lad! Once a month isn’t nearly enough!

smoke, i would’ve never guessed your opinion. i’m not sure… i think it was one joint/month. maybe i need better short-term memory or something.
