Smoking should be traf or forbidden under Jewish law.

It is a habit that ruins your health. If Moses had known about it, he would have indicated it was forbidden.

Jews who keep kosher and smoke are fooling themselves as to their piety as they are destroying their G-d given bodies.

Don’t all religions have rules along the lines of “treating ones body as a temple” because it is essentially God-given?

Also, what opinions are you looking for? Your OP is a statement at best. It’s not mandatory to start 25 IMHO threads per day, you know.

Tee-hee. Coldy is so cool.

No, but it should be.

Right after this I’ll be starting my “Brushing. It’s, like, good for your teeth” thread.

What the hell is “traf”, by the way?

I’ve seen it spelled “treyf”, “traif” and a number of other permutations.

From what I understand (and more knowledgable Dopers, please clarify or correct me), it is a term for non-Kosher items. Not just food, but, as the OP indicated, things that, by law, a Jew should not come into contact with. This includes certain clothing, and possibly coming into contact with a corpse, engaging in sex with a menstruating woman, etc. They are forbidden, or treyf.

Keep in mind that I am a goyishe bocher and therefore not nearly as well-versed in such matters as many, many other members. Should I be incorrect, or should what I posted require clarification, by all means, set the record straight.
