I’ve just been introduced to the wonder food that are smores. And good grief, they are goooooooood.
As my collaborator here in Washington put it, “we may drive on the wrong side of the road, and be ruled by Bush and Cheny, but we know how to make a good dessert.” And you know what, he’s right. He’s really right. Smores are amazing.
Yep. I was taken to Cosi’s in Alexandria. Apparantly its their speciality dessert.
The only downside to the evening was that my collaborator suggested that we may want to think about heading into the office tomorrow. This was met with another collaborator suggesting that this probably wasn’t a good idea, since it’d be hell getting through security without prior authorisation. Phew.
Eva, my collaborator did make the point, that they were supposed to be eaten around a campfire, but Cosi’s brought out the mashmellows, Graham crackers and chocolate on a wooden tray, with wooden skewers, and a mini open flame stove type contraption in the middle of it. We did set fire to marshmellows at one point, and did have lots of fun with fire!
I did end up with sticky white goo (from the marshmellows!!) all over my face and hands though.
I tried a new smores combo and it’s amazing! Instead of a Hershey’s square use an Andes mint. The chocolate mint in the smores is soooooo good! I highly recommend it. And I’ve cooked them in the microwave before (nothing compared to having a campfire) but it works ok.
