If you were to peel the shell off of a regular garden snail… would it be able to survive?
If nothing else, it would dehydrate pretty quickly.
My experience as a former five-year old snail torturer tells me, “no.”
Nope. A slug isn’t just a snail without a shell ( though that’s pretty close to what it is ). There are some real physiological and anatomical differences that allow slugs to survive shell-less.
