Sneaky virus attack, I NEVER open attachments either!

I had a virus warning from a friend. I don’t usually worry, since I don’t ever open attachments, but I asked my son to check our system, and sure enough, we had it!

It’s called ‘sulfnbk.exe’

It supposed to become active June 1st.

Go to the START button
Go to FIND or SEARCH
Go to FILES & FOLDERS
Make sure the find box is searching the ‘C’ drive
Type in: sulfnbk.exe
Begin Search.
If it finds it, highlight it and delete it
Close to find the dialog box
Open the Recycle bin
Find the file and delete it from the Recyle bin

My son DJ found this on his laptop computer too. I had told him about getting a spam titled ‘I LOVE YOU I DON’T WANT YOU TO DIE!’ and since I never open anything if I don’t recognize the name, I moved it to ‘TRASH’ and deleted it.
Whether this is how it came or not, we don’t know, it was just weird.

It was incredibly creepy to actually find this on our computers, and the PS from my computer friend read: Do not rely on your anti-virus software ** {And I run this every weekend, when I defrag too!} ** because it does not become a virus until June 1st.

I hope this helps someone. If this isn’t in the right place, I’m sorry, I just wanted to get the word out quickly.

This is a hoax…Symantec. This is a normal Windows file…you might want to restore it.

Oh brother! Now, I want to go kick my friend in the shins for scaring me to pieces! Thanks for the update, it also saved me from asking how to get that file back!

Mods: please feel free to skewer ignorance yet again, by shutting this thread. Thanks.
