SNL 5/19 season finale: Zach Braff

I don’t know who the musical guest is. And, um, that’s all I can say till tomorrow, when I watch the tape.

I hate to see this thread die, but IMHO there wasn’t much to discuss. There wasn’t anything all that memorable (in a good or a bad way) from last night’s show.

I did like the return of the “favorite song” guys. Is that a regular skit? I did see them when Rainn Wilson hosted, but that was the only time.

Yes, that was the second appearance of the song guys.

I liked the Smigel cartoon, as I usually do.

The only thing that I loved was the monologue, when Zach gave a shout-out to the Campus Sub Shop. I used to eat there every week during graduate school.

I missed the beginning and end, but saw the middle of the show. I really like the “favorite song” guys, and for some reason, I loved the entire Italian talk show sketch with Bill Hader, Zach Braff, and the dancing, vomiting puppets.

Italian talk show was the high point. Everything else was pretty much rehases ofkits that weren’t that great in their first (or tenth) incarnations. It says a lot of what they thought of the skits when they put the digital short on first thing after the monologue.

I really enjoyed the Italian talk show. From the Columbo impression to the vomiting puppet, comedy gold. Most of the other stuff got the old DVR fast forward treatment.

Of course, now I’m going to have to take a trip down to South Orange to the Campus Sub Shop, and see what all the fuss is about.

Can you buy me a cheesesteak and email it to me? Thanks!

I don’t know why they keep bringing back that music show sketch with Keenan Thompson and Andy Samberg, it wasn’t that funny to begin with and has gotten pretty annoying.

Gaaaah! Oh, brother!

oeeeeeeeeeeeee T Shayne…I like Deep House Dish …Booouquet…

I thought it was a solidly funny effort all the way through. I only catch SNL intermittently these days, so the fact that some of the sketches may have been rehashes didn’t bother me. Zack seemed to really enjoy himself, which always helps with watchability. For the record I thought the three funniest skits were 1) Senior Prom theme skit 2) News with Amy Pohler (although Maya Rudolph’s Whitney Houston impression freaks me out, I though “cocaine brownies!” was hilarious) 3) and the opening monologue
