SNL sketches/characters that should NEVER be made into movies

That would have been a good movie, but only with Gilda Radner.

The two guys trying out for backup dancers for the musical guest of the week. I love these sketches, but they can’t be stretched. They’re just find as they are!

Hey, I liked Stuart Saves his Family, and Stuart is one of my all-time favorite characters.

My answer to the OP… well, all the very worst have been mentioned.

But allow me to make this point… none of the sketches can or should be stratched to movie-length. But some of the characters COULD make good movie fodder, the problem is that they almost never are.

As much as I DESPISE the singing teachers, I can imagine very funny stuff coming from them offstage. On the other hand, while I ADORE “Delicious Dish”, it’s hard to imagine where they could go with the characters outside that setting.

That said, Stuart, The Ladies Man, and Mary Catherine Gallagher were all good bets for movies, they just made bad movies out of them.

Anyway, no one has mentioned Toonces yet, and that has to be the least movie-friendly of all time. Or maybe Unfrozen Caveman Lawyer…
