IIRC, Kinsey measured sexual “behaviours”, not “orientation” per se. As we all know, an heterosexual individual may well engage in an homosexual act or behaviour – particularly in childhood – without this affecting his or her self-identification as a heterosexual. This may account for the oft-bandied about 10% figure: perhaps it includes to the percentage of the population who have engaged in a homosexual act, but who may not necessarily describe themselves as homosexual.

Just in case anyone is so daft as to actually put an apple and a piece of tape together and come up with 4 re: pedophile and sexuality statistics, it should be thoroughly noted that the two are exclusive. And anyone who says differently is invited to interview my dead grandfather, who was a pedophile and whose ten victims (of whom I am aware, at least) were 5 girls and 5 boys. Of his children who became, to any degree, pedophiles, the split is essentially the same as far as I have been told. IE the pedophiles involved molested whoever was available and “safe”.

I was reading the articles and, at first, I was laughing my ass off. This stuff is utterly absurd. Then I started reading more and I began to get angry. The way they misuse statistics and rely on logical fallicies is criminal. Particularly egregious is they way the juxtaposed quotes from the founder of ACTUP and Hitler.
Oh and by the way, Pat, “homos” aren’t the only ones who partake in “deviant acts” such as anal sex, oral sex, golden showers and fisting. Straights do it too. Dipshit.

ephephilia - I haven’t heard of this, but IIRC I have heard of “hebephilia” which comes from the greek word for “youth”, and is used by (ok I don’t know whether to say homosexual or paedophile because it depends on your moral and legal judgement) men that find young pubescent men sexually attractive. Ie young males of around 15/16. Men that like boyish youths and young men.
Personally, I regard an 18 year old guy going out with a 15 year old guy as a normal gay man. I regard a 48 year old guy going out with a 15 year old as a paedophile. In fact the genders are irrelevant, if it was a man/girl, woman/boy I would feel the same. YMMV.
