Well, I did say “not always”–I tried to imply that it’s probably uncommon. But I don’t think it has much to do with breastfeeding either; I think it’s the hormones or something. Anyway, I nursed for a long time and it didn’t do anything. Dunno why.
I’d heard of this practice before and over the past years of informal “research” via conversation and hands-on experience, not many Japanese women do it.
