I don’t see why. The fundamental problem with anti-Semites is that Jews aren’t the demonic creatures the anti-Semites paint them as; not that their impulse to kill the evil creatures they claim Jews to be is incomprehensible. Just look at the people in this thread mentioning their impulse to see the rapists in the OP killed. If Jews really were all blood drinking, baby eating, civilization destroying monsters then they’d be quite a bit worse than those rapists are.
And if blonds were the innately evil types that some anti-white racists claim they are then wanting to kill blonds is also comprehensible. But in both cases such a position is wrong because the claims justifying that hatred are wrong.

You know, i understand where Shodan was coming from, and i know that he wasn’t advocating or defending rape, but i still find the sentence somewhat remarkable. Because, while i can, on some level, understand wanting to kill someone, or to rob a bank, i literally cannot comprehend the desire to rape someone, attractive or not.
I can comprehend the desire to have sex with someone who might not want to have sex with you, but that’s not the same as a desire to rape them. Sex is, for me, about mutual attraction and enjoyment. If someone doesn’t want to have sex with me, i can harbor the desire to have sex with them, but that would never extend to a desire to rape them, because for me the attraction and the enjoyment that constitute the basic reasons for having sex in the first place would be completely absent in an act like rape.
If i felt the desire to murder someone, it’s probably because i would have some particular reason to hate them, or to seek revenge upon them. The act and the nature of my desire would be in accord. But if i want to have sex with someone, it’s because they appeal to me in some way, and the last thing i would want to do to such a person is hurt or terrorize them, which is precisely what rape would do.
As i said, i sort of understand what motivated the comment, and i don’t think it was a defense or an excuse for rape, but i literally cannot make myself understand the desire to rape someone.
Just wanted to pop in to point out that the link saying two people had been identified notes that the person who tipped off the cops was apparently a computer tech. He was hired to clean a laptop that someone bought cheap off the streets, and the video was on it. Sounds like one of these scumbags got robbed, or didn’t clean a computer before pawning it, or something like that.

As for the OP: eeeeeew. But I have to somewhat agree with Shodan–it doesn’t affect me as much as it should. But I think the reason is that it’s so heinous, it’s hard to process it as actually being real. And, honestly, I’m glad about that. I know that this stuff is horrible–I don’t need to empathize to learn that.
*Of course, it would help if people would apologize for accidentally offending her. Still, this is the Pit, so I don’t expect it.
