Looting in lo and null sec is incredibly lucrative, people leave T2 fitted ships unlooted all the time. I’ve found faction gear on wrecks just sitting at the gate.
My Minmatar frigate alt is a blast to fly. I love playing with frigates in lo-sec.

I was under the impression that it doesn’t matter what race you are since one could learn to fly any ship in the game. I interpreted the whole race thing as something that really didn’t impact PVP unless you are flying a ship that just sucks for pvp. So I am a Caldari and just trained to fly a Rifter…can someone explaing why this is bad?

Pretty much, but some people use “I’m race X” as shorthand for "I fly the ships of race X "
It’s not. Caldari sips are (generally) bad for PvE.
Bad for PVE? The Raven and the Drake are often cited as two of the best ships for PVE.

For my money, too, I’d put the Domi or Ishtar far above the Raven/Drake. If for nothing else, the fact that they never need to put new ammo in and can, as a result, run missions/rats/whatever until the cows come home.
Yeah Domis are great for missions. Triple Active Armor tank Domi FTW.
I just took a lolfit Executioner out to a mission for shits and giggles, damn did it fucking suck. I was pining for a Rifter. I would’ve done a Punisher but they didn’t have one where I was. It’s pretty, it’s fast but it’s tank sucks and so does its DPS.
I had Advanced Weapon Upgrades 4 in there trying to complete my gunnery support to 4 or better, but damn I want to fly some other races, so I am working on the other ships right now. I’ll get Amarr Cruiser up to 4 and see how I like a Prophecy.
Which reminds me, one of the few things that the Ishkur is really, really good at is running LvL 1’s, specially those with size-limited acceleration gates.
Hi-sec plexes with size limits as well. You can AFK them in an Ishkur.
Personally I like running L3s in them.
Yup, Blaster/Rail fit Prophecy is going to be on my list soon. I threw it in Eve Mon and each race would require me precisely 1 week to get all the way up to Battleship 3.
