Face it, many, if not most of the powers of the Republican party are an embarrassment to conservatives. I’d love to take the party back from them, but so long as the people who vote in the primaries are under the sway of the assholes, that just isn’t going to happen.
At this point, you’d have a much better chance of taking over the Democratic party and turning it into a truly conservative party, then you would in rehabilitating the Republican party.

I took a look at the “What We Believe” section of nogreaterjoy.org’s website, and found it to be the standard fundamentalist blither.
But what struck me as really interesting was their position on Hell. They stated that “We believe in a literal, burning hell where the damned will eternally suffer for their sin.” The odd part is that this section appears in significantly smaller type than any of the other sections. At least on Internet Explorer.
Odd. Almost like they’re embarrassed about it.

I doubt they’d come here-they’d be banned if they did-someone at Ms. told me that they had stated a rule if anyone from Patriarch was found posting at Ms, they’d be banned.
Sadly, I kind of agree. Still, someone has to try and hold them in check as long as possible. I’ve had a minor success or two, so I’ll continue to try.

Well, does he? He killed the first born son of every Egyptian in what is now celebrated as Passover. He destroyed two cities full of people because they were wicked sparing only a handful of people one of which was turned into a pillar of salt because she dared to turn back and look at the city. Hell, he wiped out all of humanity except for a handfull in a great flood! Based on that I’d say that the God of the old testament certainly didn’t love everyone.

Guinistasia! I thought I saw your name on the patriarch site. They wiped out your comments very quickly.
I post to the board regularly. I first saw it on the Links page at www.nobojo.com, which is a really good site by the way. So patriarch was on the “these people are screwy” page.
There’s a whole bunch I don’t adhere to on the site, but I do enjoy discussing doctrine with these people…except that they’ve recently locked the boards down to women. I might have to pretend I’m a guy or something to discuss doctrine again. I think, on the whole, they’re nice people. I’m glad that their thinking is so far right so as to be unthinkable by the rest of us, because if they got hold of the government it’d be like something out of “A Handmaid’s Tale” by Margeret Atwood.
They key to arguing with these people is that the only platform they adhere to is the Bible, and the King James Version, at that. Non-biblical logic rarely shows its face on these boards. I’ve had to tread very carefully when I ask questions, and I still get slammed once in a while by a member…mainly I’m told that I should be fearful for my salvation.
