And it’s scaring the pants off me.
I mean, Patriarch.com went so far as to say,

Women are NEVER, EVER to contradict their husbands. EVER.
The Catholic church may be the Beast
George Bush is way too liberal
People who ever post on a message board that the “Elders” don’t approve of are banned.
nogreaterjoy.org basically states
If a parent does not physically discipline their children, they are not following the Bible
God hates divorce more than he hates child molestation or spousal abuse
Barbie is evil
What the HELL? I mean, I grew up Catholic, as most of you know, and people think CATHOLICS are conservative! Yeesh! It’s downright freaking scary to see these people.
Guinistasia. this is why I no longer define myself as “conservative” and un-registered as a Republican last month. I tend to be generally conservative on a lot of things, but I’ve grown incredibly sick of the “I’m more _____ than you” mentality out there. So I am what I am, and call individual situations as I see them. If somebody wants to call me a liberal, fine by me.
Looking at your links, though…people are funny, aren’t they?
If I might, I’d make the humble suggestion–just one person’s opinion here–that you stay off their message boards, and should that be irresistable, please don’t bring back strays.
Assholes like Patriarch.com, et al, are the reason I stay registered as a Republican. I don’t want reactionary assholes hijacking a perfectly good concept: Conservatism. So many people have actually bought into the idea that “extremism to the right”=“conservative” that I’m afraid that the few of us left who actually are conservative are fighting a rear-guard action.

Don’t let these assholes waste your time or distress you. Someone giving a sermon at school chapel once made the point that the nearer someone is to God - or the higher they are in a religion’s hierarchy - the bigger the victory for the devil if he sways them. Which is why I think the between religious fanaticism and pure evil is blurry and thin, if there at all.
And the guys on this Patriarch site/most of these fundie church doctrine makers? Sin of pride for a start. The whole idea of indisputable spritual authority and infallibility of one human being over another is a satanic doctrine, IMO.

Kooks like that do not make me fear conservatives, religions, etc, for I assume that they do not represent the majority. And I really don’t want to get into a ‘my lunatic fringe is not as crazy as your lunatic fringe’ fight w/anyone.

You know, I hate to rain on this parade, but it wasn’t all that long ago that we had postings from another group’s message board and SDMBers poked fun, laughed and all, then some decided to go over there and attempt to point out inconsistencies there and it all got pretty damned ugly.
FWIW, I don’t think it’s productive to copy/paste segments of some other boards thoughts (yea, it’s public yaddy yaddy yadddy) for us to laugh at.
Well, yeah, wring. But strangely enough the results are not all negative. I totally upset the equilibrium of a fairly conservative poster over at the Pizza Parlor by remarking, tongue in cheek, after I’d been there for a while and even become a Moderator, that I was led there by Satanic influence. (Navigator had to explain what I meant.)
