It’s clear you have absolutely no idea what a minimum security prison is like. They are less restrictive than higher security prisons but they are still prisons. They are not pleasant to stay at, nor are they supposed to be because they are punishments. Nobody is getting tennis lessons there. They aren’t comfortable or fun. That’s complete fiction.

The local correctional centre is minimum/medium. As a lawyer, I’ve been there many times to see clients. My credentials let me in the door, but that’s about as far as it goes. After I enter, I’m entirely dependent on the good graces of the officers.
If they’re not escorting me, they follow me on CCTV everywhere I go, buzzing me through doors I should be going through, and not buzzing me through doors I shouldn’t. (I’ve made a few wrong turns accidentally.) I am not allowed my cellphone, and if I had cigarettes and a lighter, they would not be allowed either. Sometimes, the officers want to hang onto my car and house keys when I check in. In fairness, they do keep items safe in a “coat check” kind of arrangement, and I can reclaim them when I leave my appointment. It’s best to leave anything questionable in my car. I typically go in with my briefcase, which would contain a file on my appointment, a notepad, and maybe a magazine if I need to kill time waiting—something innocent (ha!) like Time or National Geographic.
Despite being “minimum/medium,” it is not a pleasant place. Yet it is regarded as a “country club” in our correctional system. A nice big grassy exercise yard with all kinds of sports equipment, a gym, and minimum security inmates get “open visits” in a common area. There are plenty of books, games, and common areas with a TV. Everybody gets a job, if he wants one. Doesn’t pay much, but very welcome, as it does top up an inmate’s canteen account, from which he can buy candy, chips, Coke, magazines, and other treats.
But it is not a pleasant place. There are no tennis courts, no golf course. I’m glad enough to get out of there in two or three hours. It is, quite frankly, depressing.
Are there conjugal visits? (Understanding it’s not relevant here).

Just remembered. The nicest, most pleasant thing I’ve ever seen there is the calendar on the wall of the interview room. Nice landscape photos.
If that calendar is the most pleasant thing that can be seen, well, that should tell you a lot about a “minimum/medium” institution.

I spent some time on temporary duty (assigned as a guard) at the US Navy’s brig in the Philippines ages ago. It was not a pleasant ride, although it was safe, for the prisoners and the guards were quite busy. Since Tan the Convictman loves to pretend he’s all military, it would be awesome if he could serve whatever custodial sentence he receives at a military correctional facility. Don’t wake me up for a while; I’m enjoying my dream.
What I’m asking is if you’re legitimately being lax on Trump, because if you’re downplaying the effects of Trump and the Republicans, that’s a little weird to me.
I’m assuming to me, @Beckdawrek , since I posted about my experiences as a lawyer in a minimum/medium institution in my post just above his question, and he had a legitimate question.
