In the British comedy show, Bo’Selecta the term was used to mean that.

Here in Indianapolis, IN there are several micro breweries, and the pricing all depends on the day of the week. The average rate is 6 bucks for a growler fill. Not too shabby for 64 oz of good beer
Showing my nerd side, but to me a growler is a monster from D&D.
Japan’s got plenty of beer though. I think I’ve seen similarly sized bottles. They are about 8 bucks IIRC.
