I’m sick. I’ve lost my voice and 90% of my job is answering the phone.
I shoulda stayed home.
It’s been an interesting week. I got promoted to our equivalent of Career Service. If any of you have a State job, you’ll know that it means job-for-life, with all the benefits.
It’s two more days until my first ever paid vacation starts.
One of my teeth, which my old dentist never did get around to fixing permanently before she went out of business, has started to hurt again. I’ve been frying my liver taking Ibuprofen whenever it acted up. I was up at 6AM to go to the new dentist, who gave me some penicillin and Vicodin to get me through to January, when he can take the tooth out. It seems to be working in the meantime.
I think I’m getting the cold that has affected most of the staff here. If that’s true, I’ll spend my vacation sick. I hope that’s not how it works out!
I watched the news about people stranded in Denver by massive snowstorms all through the midwest, then I went outside where it was warm enough to make me perspire lightly. It made me remember why I was so happy to move here in the first place!
