Poppy spent the night inside, sleeping next to my bed. I got up and let her out once, just in case, but no accidents.YAY!

Poppy had her check up with the vet. Clean bill of health, except for a draining cyst on her back. NO HEARTWORM!!! Overweight, almost 100 lbs. No sign of cardiomyopathy, although it doesn’t always show signs. Had her chipped, so she’s mine now.

Oh lucky dog, still healthy after all that, and adopted into such a good home!
And lucky human, with such a loving dog, still kind natured after what she’s been through.
A saluki breeder we know is planning a breeding in a few weeks and we’ve put in for one. Maybe Thanksgiving? The Anatolian is missing her buddy badly.
Puppies! So cute, such a pain! What is it about salukis that you love? I had an afghan hound as childhood dog. Not the greatest idea - a 14 year old is not up to the kind of coat care an afghan needs. But Siddhartha was a wonderful dog.

We raised at one time Arabian horses so the breed was sort of matched with that. I joked with a saker we’d have a complete set. In Arabia the saker would find the gazelle, the saluki would run it to ground and pin it, then the rider would catch up and dispatch the gazelle with a knife so it was halal.
They are also a joy to watch just lure coursing.
