So I go to pick up the new DVD of Garfield: The Movie for my kids...

“Practicing for Halloween? Practicing? I’ll have you know Halloween’s my middle name. Gar… Halloween… field.”

“Arrr, I think you be havin’ a bit too many peg legs there, matey!”

Man, you ought to print that out and submit it to TV Guide. Maybe they’ll hire you to write listing descriptions.

:stuck_out_tongue:

No, I think that’s Garfield On The Town, or something like that. I always kinda liked that one, 'cause you got to see Garfield’s Mom.

Sure enough, chorpler. A Wish For Wings That Work was…pretty good. It wouldn’t be fair to call it an animated Bloom County, since it was done during the Outland years, and it shows. It was about a good as Outland, which while not nearly as good as Bloom County was, it was still better than most others out there.

If I’m remembering this right, Gary Larson’s Tales From The Far Side sucked rocks, plain and simple. I don’t recall much of the show, just that I was very disappointed.

Not quite sure why I can only find it at amazon.uk and not on the US site.

Now I remember this! I remember being depressed about seeing his mom, and wondering why the adult Garfield never got to see her. Or something. I barely remember this.

:smack: You know, this thread reminded me that I bought a small lot of three Garfield VHS specials off ebay sometime ago. Sure enough, there’s Garfield On The Town right on top of the stack. I gotta watch this stuff again!

Thanks for the information. I take it that AWfWtW was a Christmas special of some kind?

Too bad about the Far Side thing not being good – but I’d still like to see it anyway, at least once. So I sure hope they both come out on DVD someday…

 I think for TV Guide I’d have to condense it down to “On a stormy Halloween night, Garfield and Odie get more than they bargain for while trick-or-treating.”

You know, it always seemed to me that reviewing books and/or movies would be a great job. I wonder how you go about becoming a reviewer…
