When I read posts like the OP I want to think of something profound and comforting to say.
But my first reaction is usually Shit!
Pardon my language Rick, I’m not trying to be funny. I’ll pray for you. And take care of that other kidney. I have only one now, the kidney stones won.
Don’t worry, Baker, we thought SHIT, too, and much, much worse.
Gail, sorry to hear you are going through this too. Hopefully, we can both kick this thing’s arse.
Thanks, everyone, from both Brynda and me for all the good thoughts. We are definitely keeping a positive attitude, now that we are over the initial shock.
 That’s just a lovely way to ring in the New Year
We’re pulling for you here at the Zappa/Knig household!! and for our"prognosis - SURPRISE!!" story: Typo Knig’s grandmother was diagnosed with some sort of cancer and told she had about a 5% chance of living out the year.
20 years later, at the age of 80ish, she died of something completely unrelated.
So, I know you’re gonna whip this sorry disease’s ass into the ground and make it sorry it ever bothered you!
Good news! We met with an oncologist today and he wholeheartedly endorsed the current plan to have surgery. Ok, so surgery to have a kidney removed doesn’t sound like good news, but at least all the doctors agree that this is the right thing to do. Surgery is Thursday, so keep sending those good thoughts.
