Just got a new Heckler & Koch MP5A5.
Remember, son, Counterstrike is only a game…
Sweet. I wish I had one.
I wish I knew how long to charge the battery.
Is this for that movie you’re making? If so, is it 100% real, or one for foring blanks?
Either way, it’s damc cool looking.
Define ‘real’.
[sub]I mean, it’s solid; if not actually a firearm.[/sub]
I took it into the back yard and took the head off of a dandelion. Poked some holes in a styrofoam cup. Also a cardboard box. My friend told me to shoot myself in my hand with his airsoft Glock, and I did. Stung a bit. After seeing what the MP5 does to dandelions, styrofoam and cardboard, I don’t think I’ll try that with this one.
Yeah, it’ll probably make it into a film.
Ahh, an airsoft gun. For a two month period in college, a bunch of guys I knew got into airsoft and had wars. They made a game where you took the gun (just a pistol), cocked it, and fired it point blank into your thigh. It hurt.
Yeah, the Glock stung a bit. I looked at my friend and said, ‘That hurt.’ He laughed because his other friend was dancing around the room yelping and waving his sore hand when the trick was played on him. (FTR, he tried it on himself before making us do it.)
The MP5 certainly looks the part. We just have to be careful not to show the bottom of the magazine (there’s a roller there for feeding the pellets every 50 or 60 rounds) or the ejection port (which is a solid part of the receiver). It came with a flash hider installed like the one in the photo, but bright orange plastic. Naturally, I’ve put the meaner-looking of the two ‘mil-spec’ hiders on it.
Is it a Tokyo Marui? I played around with a PSG-1 that was very nice.
Your MP5 is causing me much envy.
It’s a Classic Army. I like the brighter red markings on the Marui, but the Classic Army is a little heavier. Does the Marui have an all-metal body? (This does.)
I wonder if the Marui PSG-1 stock will fit on my SAR-8/HK-91?
Sweet.
As soon as I get a job, I’m going to save up a few bucks and go to the local gun range where you can rent a fully auto MP5. That should kick ass!
Eh. It’s no Uzi.
I was at a sporting goods store a couple of weeks ago with a friend. He’d never used an Uzi himself, but he said he met a guy when he was in the Army who didn’t like it. I handled a semi-automatic, long-barrelled civilian Uzi at the store. (Nearly bought one back in the '80s, but didn’t have the money.) I’ve also handled the civilian version of the MP5. No offense, but I’d choose the H&K.
MikeG: This one uses the 8.4v mini battery (fits in the fore-end). Do you know how long I should charge it?
Had me fooled for a second. That’s still pretty hot.
Heh heh. I was hoping to be ambiguous about it a bit longer.
There is an Airsoft P90. I am going to buy it as fast as I can.
This is where I got the MP5. That P90 is funky-looking!
Yeah, that one. I learned of it accidentally last weekend by passing by dansdata.com (Great site, very good for technology reviews) and I’m thinking, next paycheck, mine.
Whups! Different one. Much cooler, but more than I want to spend. http://www.backyardartillery.com/ is where I was looking. Specifically,

Not quite as realistic, but 1/10th the cost.
