It’s just been sitting in the corner of the room. I had to move it (it is pretty big) to put in the Christmas tree. The Christmas tree is down now so I moved it back.
It’s not rotten at all… Seems just like the way it was when a friend dropped it off on my porch for me. I think I’ll just let it sit there for as long as it’ll last.
here is a photo of it.
VERY MPSIMS.
Anyway… What should I do with this thing?
My oldest daughter won one in the great pumpkin race at the Highschool in mid October, still looks like it did when we brought it home. I have no idea what to do with our either, sorry.
I say get rid of it before it melts!
I once forgot the october pumpkin sitting on my front porch until towards the end of December. (I don’t use the front door much) When I finally saw it again it had basically melted into a pile of pumpkin mush. I had to remove it with a shovel. It was also uncarved. I don’t know what happened to it. Maybe it was because the weather was so hot that fall.
I think the reason the thing hasn’t “melted” yet is because I didn’t leave it on the porch. Once the frost get to it there is nothing but mush left. This thing has been inside since the day it showed up here. Any bets on when it’ll finally go?
I had one last until late February one year, unpunctured and unfrosted. I threw it out when it finally started to mold. I say keep it, it’s a member of the family.
I read somewhere that if you want to preserve your (whole) pumpkins, bring them inside and put them in a very warm room. The heat sort of cures them and they don’t get yucky like they do when you leave them outside.
Anyway … we made pumpkin pie out of our halloween pumpkins. Be warned, it takes a long long time to cook it down properly.
