2:00 even but I’ll be honest - the last one was a sheer fluke guess with no hints. I just happened to nail one.
Well, there went 4 hours and 22 minutes…
41/42 in 3:08
This one will break your brain I suspect.
I got about half right on this one, I predict fellow dopers will do much better than I.
(It’s a match the year to the famous event in history thing).
23 out of 45.
The logic ones are awesome, but that one gave me fits. For those who just can’t get it, there’s a solution linked in the quiz description.
It hurts my brain just looking at it.
Here’s one I think I did pretty good on. Guess the board game by seeing the board. 22/24
If anyone can do better than that, I’ll be impressed (two of the games I had never heard of).
These type of quizzes I usually hold two rules on:
-
If I click on it, I play it…no matter what. This is so I avoid being able to look at a lot of the questions and only take those that I know a lot of answers to and skip those that I don’t know a lot of answers to.
-
Obviously I never look up answers I don’t know (Google or otherwise). I count SPELLING in with this. I think if you know what the answer is but use Google to look up the spelling isn’t fair in a small way. If you don’t know how to spell it, that should be a natural point “against” you.
I got 30 out of 38 right on the quiz above, by the way…and if you (you reading this post right now) play it the way I do, you’ll take it as soon as you click on it instead of going “Hmm, I don’t know many of those answers, so I’ll pass.” (which I feel is sort of “weaseling” out of playing them )
And here’s two that everyone will know the answers to, so it comes down to who is able to put the answers in the fastest:
I got 20 seconds for planets and 10 for chess.
I’m totally addicted to that site, and have been for years.
Anyone know the way to Kyrgyzstan?
37/38.
edit: Assuming they’re each out of a minute, I got 11 seconds for the planets and 7 for the chess pieces.
24/24, 5:07 left. I’m guessing you were unfamiliar with mancala and cranium?
cmkeller and I have been passing ships on Sporcle for a while now. I see his comments in the comment section every now and then (I believe I first ran across his name in this amazing quiz). I’m NoPepper over there.
Yeah, I’ve been playing for 2-3 years at least. I check it at least once a day. I got all the countries of the world once, after playing it about 15 times in a row and wasting several hours, and never managed it again. I’m always missing 1 or 2.
It has done a hell of a lot for my knowledge of geography.
Okay, here’s a challenge. Complete the missing word in the popular book title.
I got 181 out of 226. I didn’t get any wrong, although I passed a lot (to come back to them) and while I was going back to the ones I missed, I ran out of time.
I found this one that’s right up my alley–name all the songs on Ke$ha’s three albums. I even gave myself an extra challenge by requiring myself to get them all in order. Three minutes, ten seconds.
For one that may appeal to a wider range of Dopers, here’s onewhere you identify classical music clips. I got 21 of 26.
I also should have gotten credit for “Beautiful Blue Danube,” but they wanted “The Blue Danube.” Another one I missed was “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice.”
50 titles by antonym was fun.
That was tricky - I only managed 160. Some I just had to guess at - you know, “that word fits in there, let’s give it a go.”
This one was pretty fun.
