So I noticed that the cat ordered some stuff from Amazon . . .

. . . which is cool. As she would tell you herself having watched too many old L’oreal commercials - She’s worth it. (Just whatever you do, if you want to keep your face, don’t ask her how old she is.)

The problem is, whenever she orders things online, she tends not to do her research first. And I don’t really know where to go for reliable information so here’s what she ordered and I’m wondering if they were a good idea.

  1. Oral hygiene chews - she knows that she’s supposed to go for a cleaning but she still equates the vet with ‘going to a farm upstate’ so I’m guessing that’s what motivated this purchase. Do these help?

  2. Kitty entertainment DVD’s - I almost don’t care if these are any good. I’m just happy they’re not porn.

Well, my kitties love the CET chews and they do seem to reduce the frequency of teeth cleanings. (First time my vet gave me a few to sample I couldn’t believe the darned things were edible-they look like insulation or something.)
I can’t speak for DVDs though. My crew prefer to sit at the back window watching the bird feeders.

Things are a little awkward in that dept. She’ll look out the front door if it’s open but won’t climb up on her perch in the front window. She is getting older and it requires some effort so I’ll have to look into making that easier but at the same time, she’s quite spry when she wants to be so IDK.

Count your blessings. I had one who called 911.

My cat started the day by peeing on one of my pillows… while I was in bed… the only reason he’s still alive is that it was a spare pillow and not being used, but still. Stoopit cat.

It’d be an improvement if he shopped online.

As a human who is getting older, I can say this makes sense.
There are places I don’t want to climb up to any more- I’m young enough that I could do that and lots of other things, but old enough to know it will hurt later.
Build a ramp or ladder for your cat, or give her the tools and materials to do it herself.

OK. So I got the CET chews and I gave her one. She was sitting on the back of the sofa sort of licking it and trying to bite it. I turned away for a while looked back and it was gone.

I figured she knocked it behind the couch. She was in for the night so I gave her another this morning but put it on the floor. Same thing. She’s sort of licking it and it seems like she’ll be a while. I look away, look back and it’s gone again.

I was thinking that it takes a while for them to eat these and they are fairly large even for her. She’s a big cat - about 14-16lbs I think. I always forget. My ex and I hypothesized that she must be part Maine Coon. But as I said, these things are pretty big even for her, so I’m really going to have to watch her I guess.

She does occasionally hack up some massive hair balls so I guess it’s possible she’s swallowing them whole but I can’t really imagine that. And hacking something up really quite a different operation anyway which requires a lot of effort and which is why I give her daily hair ball treatments.

Change the passwords on your computer if your cat is getting online and ordering stuff. I learned my lesson when the UPS guy appeared with a 75lb case of catnip that was sent COD.

Steve Martin predicted this back in Season 3, Episode 1 of Saturday Night Live.

As long as it’s not Kitty Porn. You wouldn’t want to get in trouble with The Law.

My smallest girl only weighs 7 pounds so I break the CET chews in half for her but the others take them whole-takes 'em about three seconds. The treats are pretty crumbly and tend to fall apart once the outer wrapper bit is broached.

Thanks. I finally watched her eat one while sitting next to me on the sofa. There are pluses to having leather furniture like being able to wipe up after messy eaters.

The kitty videos seem to be a hit. So far it’s been birds and rodents in different settings and I sort of see the allure. Meow.

I think the surround sound is throwing her off since she keeps turning around to look at the rear speakers. I can’t decide if I should set the system to stereo mode or leave it like this. Hmmm.

OK. Last mult-post. Just want to say that I may have lost the use of my tv.
