So I quit my job yesterday.

Yup, that’s about it. Gave my two week notice. My last day will be just shy of my 3 year 9 month anniversary at this company.

Feels kinda good. Damn good, actually.

Once those two weeks are up, oh, the stories I’ll have to tell.

Got another job yet?

Where is this job you quit? What kind of job was it? May I have it if you don’t want it?

I’ve been unemployed for far too long.

Not yet, welby. Last night I looked for my old resume, couldn’t find it, and wrote a new one. Considering that my last resume was nothing but “graduated from college, had a bunch of summer jobs”, this one is a little beefier.

Up in Minnesota, LouisB, doing quality assurance for an e-commerce outsourcing company. If you want to relocate up here and have several years of QA experience, they’ll snap you up in a heartbeat.

So will your new job let you fore-eat? That would be so cool! Of course that’s pretty much limited to circusses, sideshows and festivals (oh! and RenFests!) so you might have to knock out a few teeth and get tattoos. No plan is perfect.

Good luck and happiness at your new gig. (Whatever it is, but hopefully soon.)

“Fore-eat”, “Fire-eat”. Whatever. Great big balls of fire shooting from your face. That’s what I meant.

Wow. A big step. Luck finding a new position - one that you will enjoy.

You know I support you.

WITH PLANKS.

Are you going to stay in MN or looking for a new start elsewhere?

I ask because I’m in talks with a firm in North Carolina and I’m on the fence about the move.

I’m staying where I am, JC. I like the Mpls area and the job market is pretty good. Over the years at my current (soon to be previous) job, I’ve managed to make quite a number of friends and acquaintances who have left the company as well. I’d be surprised if I’m still hunting for a job by mid-May.

Famous last words, of course, but money won’t be an issue for a few months (more famous last words) so I can be picky about jobs for a while.

Good for you. I hope you do well.

And come play Diplomacy sometime again, for cryin’ out loud.

May the pork and beer flow freely, my friend. Good luck!

lno!

Congratulations, friend.

Good luck on finding a new jobby-job. We’re all pulling for you.

For a minute, I thought she wrote WITH PLANES I was like, dang! That Francesca is a badass!

Let me add my name to the list of supporters.

You know I support you.

WITH PORK

I may not support you with pork/planes/planks/any other “P” word, but I support you!

Good luck with the jobhunt.

Good luck with the jobhunt, lno! We’ll have to throw you a “Happy Quitter Party” when you’re next in Ottawa!

This is a very good move, and you know it. Congratumalations.

If nothing pans out, will you come down here for a few weeks and pour me a new patio?

Sure, Cranky. How much will you pay, and can I bring my dog?

Mm. Nine working days left. I’m actually being nostalgic now. I remember when I started here on Wednesday, August 4th, 1999 at 3:00 pm.

Meeeeeemooriiiiieesss… alllll alone in the seeeerverrrrr faaaaaarm…

I want to hear the stories. Do they involve Pork?

Wow, quitting a job w/out having a replacement. I don’t think I could do that nowadays. It’s probably been a decade since I did such a thing.

Count me in the supporters side of things, and give a jingle if you need someone to spot you a beer or two.
