So I quit my job last week.

It’s actually been inevitable for several years now when corporate decided to bring everyone together into two central locations rather than having most positions as non site specific. That pretty much locked me into my position with no chance of promotion unless I was willing to relocate. That’s just not an option for a variety of reasons, both for myself and most of the employees that would have had to move so about 80% said thanks, but no thanks, and dusted off their resumes. I could have sponsored my own work rants thread since that time but I just maintained my Zen and carried on.

So last month one of my old co-workers calls me up and says he’s got a spot for me and to send in my resume. I did. They made an offer. I turned in my notice. Going to be split about half work from home and travel. Emotions are mixed. There are a bunch of friends on the local level that I’m going to miss a lot, but I’ll also be missing out on the regular headaches handed down from the corporate level.

Friday the 13th is my last day. Monday the 16th is my first day.

Every new beginning comes from some other beginning’s end.

Good Luck! I hope you find the new job to be a “Good Fit”.

I recently changed jobs. For the last 15 years I had been a Joint Venture GM for Panera Bread and then a local pizza chain but was offered a Bartending position at a very prestigious “Member Only” club in Clayton MO.

My pay is almost identical working less hours and the new gig is virtually stress free. The benefits far exceed anything I have been offered before.

again, best of luck.

Woot! Good Luck Projammer!

Congrats!

Good luck!

So, you will be unemployed for two days!

Enjoy the vacation. And good luck with the new opportunities.

Congratulations. I see you followed my well worn rule about employment. Never quit the job have until you have the next job. You’d be surprised how many people don’t follow that rule.
