I’ve been knitting my best friend a pair of socks for “swollen feet” days out of some thrice-cursed bulky fuzzy yarn that hates me. I’m almost done with the second one, but unfortunately my right wrist has decided to go all carpal tunnelly on me, so my husband is making me wear a stupid wrist brace and lay off the knitting until it stops hurting. What am I supposed to do while I’m watching TV?
Crochet.
My sock is done. It only took me two tries to do the toe–somehow my needles got more slippery the fewer stitches were on them, so I finally gave up, ripped it out, ripped some more (stupid spiral rib not being spiral anymore) and tried again, this time knitting the toe REALLY tightly. It worked. The sock fits, although it’s a little warm for daily wear. (And, I do need to knit a mate for it).
Now for the tough question, to go shopping, or to cast on my existing ball of yarn for sock two, thus allowing me to continue not deciding what my next set of socks look like.
Or I could cast on a sleeve, thereby working on diminishing the stack of unfinished projects,
or just work on the stupid scarf . . .
And I have finished all three pairs of bridesmaids’ socks! They’ve actually been finished for a couple of weeks; I was just waiting for the right thread. I’ve also signed up for Ravelry, since my local yarn store has a knitting night associated with it on Tuesday nights.
Good for you! I am so proud of you for finishing your task!
I signed on for Sock Wars and fully accept that I will be assassinated about 10 minutes after I receive my target.
All of a sudden I’m sock obsessed, which is awesome since that was the section at the yarn store I always ignored. I also ordered some lace weight on clearance from knitpicks. I’m excited.
Despite–or perhaps because of-- the two books from the library on sock patterns, I have done nothing sock-related since finishing sock one.
On the other hand, I’ve now got one and a half sleeves for my sweater completed.
