Hit on Meredith. HARD.
No, that’d be me. Do the opposite of whatever I’d do.

My brother gave her a fist bump.
Was it thirty questions in 15 minutes?
Unfortunately, Meredith isn’t at the auditions. Or at least, she wasn’t any of the times I auditioned.
Alex Trebek, however, was at the audition when I tried out for the Jeopardy! College Tournament a couple of decades ago.
I might have been tempted to give it a try but I worked an overnight shift and I don’t think I’d do well after being up all night.
Well, it turned out that after all my worrying about the actual audition, it was the test that did me in. It took me about 2 1/2 hours to get there and I really needed to ahem use the restroom, but the girl outside ushered me in and said the test was starting in two minutes.
So I took it, and didn’t get a qualifying score. I think I got all but four right, but I was a bit unlucky on the questions - one about the Monopoly World Championships, one about First Ladies, one about Kung Fu Panda, and one about Jay-Z, none of which I know anything about (other than some Jay-Z lyrics).
They only called 10 numbers out of 450-odd people in the session, so I didn’t feel too bad.
I suspect that might have stretched even my considerable ability to lie.
We got 10 minutes for 30 questions. I thought I was gonna be in just by virtue of the fact that only a few dozen people actually finished. The pleasant elderly gentleman next to me took at least 3 minutes to figure out what to do with the Scantron form.
Jeez, you did better than I would have, then.
Sounds brutal! Keep trying… now you know what to expect, if you find yourself in NYC you can try again.
Bummer.
I’m sure you’d’ve done better with an empty bladder. You know what they say, “Full bladder, empty head.”
It wasn’t the bladder that needed emptying. I could have dealt with that much more easily - it was only 10 minutes, after all.
Didn’t really matter, though. I wouldn’t have known the answers even if I’d slept well and taken the test in my bathroom.
Well, at least you can take solace in the fact that you’ll make a competent lawyer.
that’s a bummer. it really is luck of the draw on the questions. some times you can run through it with no problems, other times you have no clue.
I’m sorry ya didn’t get it.
Was it fun at least?
Yeah, but now that Really Not All That Bright mentions it, I think it was 30 questions in 10 minutes when I took it, too. Kind of strange they gave you 30 minutes…
Well, it’s hard to bubble in a scantron with hooves.
linds, it was exciting, but not really fun. Waking up at 5:30 am to drive 2 and a half hours for a 10 minute test really isn’t my bag. Of course, I’d probably say different if I’d actually gotten to audition.
Oh god, 530? That’s the worst. You’ve got the experience and the story at least - maybe we’ll egg ya on to try again sometime.
