Woah! Thanks for the bump. I finally managed to recover the photos and get the good ones online, I just totally forgot about posting them here. My apologies.
Depends on your definition of cold I suppose. When I was there it was ‘summer’, so the temperate reached a nice balmy 40 degrees farenheit. Generally it was right around freezing. What really made it cold, however, was the wind. A nice strong gust would really send a chill through your body.
So were the Southern Constellations pretty cool? I’m headed for Chile and Argentina tomorrow and am eagerly anticipating looking up and seeing a completely different sky.
To be honest I don’t recall them being any different, but that’s due to my lack of observation.
I took a class on ‘Religion & Science’ this semester and we spent the first few weeks going over early astronomers and just how acccurate they came to be. I wish I’d taken it earlier – it gave me a newfound appreciation for looking up occasionally.
Enjoy your trip; if it’s anything like mine there will be more than enough to see at eye level. I think we’d all like to see your photos when you get back.
