As a product of the seventies, and a lover of that period music, I am of course, a KISS fan. In class today some students were showing a picture to other students when I walked in, the girls were blushing, the guys were saying lude things and I was wondering what was going on. So I asked to see.
When the girl turned the picture around I immediately knew who it was, it was of course Gene Simmons and his famous appendage. Below the picture was a saying, something lusciously Simmons-esque making reference to the number of women Gene had “royally been with”…It was 4000 plus!
Things I see going for him. He’s a rock star, he’s decently handsome, and of course he has a very long tongue. I guess what I am asking is this.
Is it his tongue that makes him so attractive, or the imaginative fantasy of what he could do with it?
I’ve never seen or heard him interviewed where he wasn’t a colossal dick. To me, he seems like the kind of guy you’d want to punch in the face, and I don’t know what women could possibly see in him.
This thread is funny. heh I agree, that Gene doesn’t come off all that well in the few interviews I’ve seen. Even the female interviewer I last watched, seemed a bit put off by him. I didn’t realize he was such a big deal, I always thought it was Paul that won in the good looks department. He hasn’t aged gracefully, IMO, really none of them appear to. I always figured that was the reason for going back to the make-up.
I can understand the tongue making people giggle or blush, but I’m not sure that has anything to do with Gene’s hotness factor. I just saw a snippet of him on some entertainment show, and he practically wrenched two girls to stand beside him out of the crowd, before the cameras clicked. They didn’t look especially hot and bothered. In fact, I’d describe them as tharn.
It’s the platform silver boots. No, wait, Paul Stanley wore those. Okay, he doesn’t do anything for me, but in his own words in a "1999 interview : “The ones who seem to like me are really not interested in a candlelight dinner. They want to spend a night with a beast. They’re not interested in the niceties of life; they want me to go drill for oil.”
Having met him, briefly, in person I found him to be very softspoken and eloquent and appreciative of his fans’ adoration.
He does have a tendency in interviews (e.g. Oprah’s show or the NPR interview) to push uptight folks’ buttons with regards to matters of a sexual nature. I tend to find it funny but I can see how some people wouldn’t like it.
I wonder if he pushes peoples buttons who ask questions of a sexual nature because he has been asked these kind of questions for a very long time, he’s probably sick and tired of it. Furthermore, he probably hates the fact that he’ll be remembered in that way…
I tend to disagree. With the NPR interview, he kept steering the lady interviewer back towards things of a sexual nature and how she needed to lighten up and have fun. All she wanted to do was a serious expose on his book.
Having said that, I’ve also seen/heard Mr. Simmons speak in a serious manner when the topic suits him and he comes off as very intelligent.
My take is he knows exactly what his life has been all about; having fun. That anyone should try to be serious about one of the most outrageous rock-and-roll acts in the world is kind of silly in the first place and I think he’d be the first to admit it.
Gene Simmons was much more physically/sexually attractive for me 10-20 years ago. Now that he’s in his 50s he’s lost some of his luster. He definitely looks better with the make-up on and seeing him with the make-up and his tongue hanging out do tend to make me wet! I like a man with a strong tongue and his looks mighty strong!
From what I’ve seen of Gene Simmons in t.v. interviews and magazine articles he seems like a very intelligent, well-spoken individual. That’s what makes him more attractive IMO.
