Today is effectively the last day of my trial membership here on the Straight Dope boards. I know I haven’t posted a whole lot, spending most of my time here as a lurker with occasional comments, but I have enjoyed the chance I have had to get to know a few of the fine people here. That said, I will probably now slip back into the realms of lurking. I just can’t justify the cost of a subscription right now for as little posting as I do here, especially since times are pretty tight for my family. I know fifteen bucks doesn’t sound like a lot, but on a paycheck-to-paycheck income, that’s more than I can afford. My birthday is later this month, so perhaps I’ll be back, if I get anything from relatives then. In case I don’t, I wanted to say farewell to those who might care, and thank you all for letting me be part of your community, even if it has only been a short visit. Thanks again!

I know I’ve enjoyed having you around, I remember a post or two of yours that stood out, and I wish you’d posted more.
