Is there still a ‘shortage’ of kitchen appliances? I haven’t heard too much about it in the news lately. If it’s over, it’s sad that the prices didn’t go back down afterward ( but do they ever? ).
I don’t remember hearing anything about an appliance shortage, but we do have:
- A shortage of workers everywhere
- High inflation
- Supply line issues everywhere
All of those would explain why the price of anything is high right now.
I simply cannot LIVE without a FOKOF LAGER t-shirt. But I must. It would cost over $100 to ship one to the states. And BTW, it’s very good beer.
I just bought a 2016 Honda HRV on Saturday, and today I found out it has a leak. I am not a happy bunny. This has been an exhausting week, and it’s not getting better. I might have to sleep all weekend. Also I had an appointment with my doctor today, and I did not know that some unpleasant things were on the agenda. This might be a good time to hibernate for a while!
Of late I’ve begun putting leftover meats and some cheese on a roll and cooking them together with a panini press. Yes, it’s as exciting as pressing pants. Well, except for the food part.
< Warning! Don’t Eat Pants! You don’t know where they’ve been! >
As clean-up time is something I’d like to be faster, I’ll sometimes wrap the roll in foil before the high heat <Whoosh!> of the Press. When I unwrap the foil, however, there seems to be 50-50 shot of some of the bread sticking to the foil. Examining the foil, I see that the foil has a very shiny side and a slightly dull shiny side.
Q: Which side am I supposed to put towards the food?
I believe the official stance of Big Aluminum is that both sides are essentially equal, no significant variance in reflectivity, heat absorption or any other factor related to cooking.
Hit the foil with a bit of spray oil before wrapping.
Hellur! Its December. Theres my rant.
Edited- this thread needs closed.![]()
november confuses me, i think it has 31 days, and it doesn’t. this makes me a bit cranky.
To round out the Week of Doom, this morning I had an allergic reaction, probably because of medication. The crisis today is worse than yesterday’s crisis.
I hope nothing else happens, because I can’t deal with any more bad things this week!
Anyone making a December thread? I don’t really have any rants right this minute but I’m sure we will need a thread before December is over…
Just created one, since nobody else has yet.
“Thirty days hath September,
April, June, and November …”
November should be easy to remember because it’s part of the rhyme with “September”. ![]()
Also easy to remember because the adjacent month of December features New Year’s Eve on December 31, and adjacent 31-day months are rare – July and August are the only ones.
I use the “count across knuckles” method, since I can’t keep the rhyme straight :).
i believe it is the thanksgiving holiday that throws me off. i have odd calendar issues.
dec and jan are 31 days.
Not adjacent in the same year {he said, sliming off on a technicality}.
i embrace technicalities!
Hard to do when they’re slimy, though.
Shouldn’t he be grounded or insulated first?
30 days hath September,
All the rest, I can’t remember.
December and January are, too.
