So much for "peace-keeping" missions

I guess the Balkans will have to fend for themselves now. They are going to have to go back to killing each other, since they aren’t killing foreigners. Perhaps they’ll even rethink their actions and try peaceful coexistance for the first time in a couple hundred years.

How long before we start the troop withdrawals?

What on earth are you talking about? What do the Balkans have to do with this week’s events?

We’re going to need troops to implement all these military options. There are thousands of them sitting around on various peace-keeping missions. I’m saying that they are going to be recalled, and all those former trouble spots are going to be left on their own.

You’re jumping the gun a bit, since no decision has been made about what to do militarily (or if it has, nobody has reported massive military movements).

Where are all these troops needed? I don’t recall war being declared on a country.

One final point: according to the UN, there are 747 US personnel involved in peace-keeping operations as at August 2001. I doubt they’ll make that much of a difference.

Also, NATO has pledged 10,000 troops from what I have read.

I’ve read about 50 articles today alone so I can’t give a site.
