So my cat has 2 tongues..

Hey everybody,

Don’t know if this should be here or some where else so feel free to move it if need be.

I recently discovered that my cat has 2 tongues. He has a smaller mini-tongue under his normal tongue that mimics everything the normal tongue does. I e-mailed a vet about it online and she said it seemed to be a mutation of some sort but she didn’t give me anyother info. I have heard about the extra toes gene/mutation, so I’m wondering if anyone has heard if this at all?? I do have a picture of it , the link is:[http://community.webshots.com/photo/60714743/74762334ghWtVZ](Picture of my cats tongue)

Any info or leads would be appreciated

Just fixed your link there, sonicsink. With a word URL like, put the word after the URL, and the URL in the quotation marks.

I’ll have a look now for any info.

A Google cached page:
http://www.google.co.nz/search?q=cache:fpRmuw8K3C8J:www.phillyburbs.com/couriertimes/packages/0609twofaced.shtml+cat+%2B+“two+tongues”+%2B+vet&hl=en&ie=UTF-8 is all I could find. Got to get ready for work now – and yes, I typed “like” when I meant “link”. Not enough coffee this morning. :stuck_out_tongue:

Get him a female cat to play with – she’ll be very, very happy

Well I hate to bump this up, but I really thought I’d get some better answers from the SDMB! Come on guys help me out here!

maybe he’s the chosen one!
extra points for those who get the reference.

That cat w/ the two tongues is just wicked cool, man. I’ve never heard of that in any animal! Maybe you could charge people for a look at him and make a little money!:stuck_out_tongue:

“Meine Katze hat zwei Zungen.”
“Wie schmeckt er?”
“Sehr gut!”

Sorry, other than a silly joke, I got nothing to contribute.
