Actually, in Debate Camp, Josh says, “Why don’t you do your job as a man and get that nice girl pregnant?” and that’s when Toby announces, “I did.” That implies to me that Andy and Toby were seeing each other, at least to the extent that Josh was aware of the fact that they were trying to get pregnant again.
Also, it’s weird they stopped mentioning Sam, but he didn’t leave the show because he won the election. He lost the election and accepted a job at a private law firm. The weird part was that they had Sam lose and never explained why he didn’t come back to the his job.
This reminds me of two weird relationship stories.
One was a guy I knew who 1) got married and had a kid; 2) got divorced and married a second woman, and had a second child and then 3) divorced his 2nd wife … to marry the first one again.
The first-and-third wife then dug out her first wedding photos and put them back on display. :dubious:
The other was a weird thing concerning a young couple (20-somethings) and and older couple (40-somethings). The young couple had a baby. Then they split up. Then the older couple split up. Then they all switched partners.
They all lived together in the same house. That baby musta been hella confused.
Sometimes, the living and financial arrangements have a lot to do with how well a couple get along. Being friends or lovers with an ex that you no longer have to deal with not putting the toilet seat down or overdrawing your checking account is much less stressful than one that you do.
My ex-boyfriend (yes, sigh…) had one child already with his ex-wife (well, actually, they were never officially married, but had their own ceremony), and another child he had taken guardianship of (because he worked in child services and is a good person…basically, he saved that little girl’s life/psyche from certain destruction). But he doesn’t make a lot of money. Then a good friend of his was trying to get pregnant and was using sperm from a sperm bank. She had asked him for sperm for a long time and I guess he finally gave in. So he gave her a sample and voila! she got pregnant. Except they all live in the same town, are in the same circle of friends, and hadn’t really talked about how they would explain this to the kid. And he did not plan to help raise the kid or be a co-parent or anything. But they were going to tell the kid he was the father. I’m sure that would not be confusing or anything. :dubious:
Yes, I remember Sam making a comment that if he was going to lose, he was going to go down in flames and speaking his mind (the particular topic was not popular in the district in which he was running).
I never thought Andy and Toby were reconciling, but rather the congresswoman wanted to have children and they were still on good terms so Toby agreed. When it happened, Toby wanted to get back together and was rebuffed.
I do know a very loving couple who had a child together, then he went and had another child with a different woman (he says she used him “like a sperm bank”), then got back together, got married, and had another child.
Met him again today and said “Bill*, what you said Friday was a joke right”. No evidently not. Apparently its not just a one night stand, and not exactly “unplanned”.
