So Trump is healthier than we thought…

Who’s “they” because I don’t see why anyone would think Vance is the future of the party. If anything Trump’s death is going to be like when the emperor died in The Dark Crystal.

Yeah, I think you’re right about that. Several people told me that today.

They is Vance and whoever supports him. The Trump administration can’t invoke the 25th without Vance’s support.

It has seemed to me that the current Repub administration has a blind spot in that they really don’t seem able to understand why anyone would disagree with them given the self evident rightness of their positions. I think that a significant faction of the current cabinet really thinks that if Trump’s health fails to the extant that he can’t continue in office, the base will rally around the chosen successor - Vance. It’s the right wing echo chamber taken to pathological extremes.

The fact that they are delusional is not relevant. They have given every evidence of being that disconnected from any understanding of public opinion. If I am correct, we are headed for a major crack up when reality bites them back. I hope the country survives it, but I am growing ever more pessimistic.

Trump has better health care than you and I will ever have, a better makeup team, and probably impeccable drug connections as well.

He could go tomorrow, he could last 20 more years. It’s impossible to say. The only consistent thing about him is his inconsistency. But I have a brace of fireworks bought up for the occasion, whenever it happens.

I endorse this wise post and I’d like to subscribe to your newsletter.

Meanwhile, you’ll note that Trump has not left the White House all day today and his tweets consist solely of endorsements which he didn’t write himself and an angry rant about Robert DeNiro.

He’s clearly in come-down mode.

I gave up that dream when he successfully avoided any repercussions from Jan 6 and was able to run for president again, supported by the Republican Party.

He will never see the inside of a prison cell, not even one in name only.

My hope is that during one of those long circle-jerk televised Cabinet sessions, he falls asleep and just never wakes up again. I wonder how long it would take his sycophants to notice.

That mode of Trump always reminds me of Kramer using butter for tanning.

I’m on the side that says Trump’s health is a well-kept secret with no reason to believe he’s doing poorly for someone his age.

However, I’m also thinking I have better health care than Donald Trump. This is partly due to the VIP syndrome I’ve mentioned before.

What Trump instead has is more health care than I do. His is mostly military medicine. This isn’t bad on average but I doubt it is the best. He’s probably taking one (or both) of the FDA approved dementia preventives that the head of my local memory center (AKA neurology dementia practice) says should never have been approved.

Because I am worried about what is now mild memory loss, I had a memory center appointment today where they really did give me a whole bunch of these tests that Trump talks about but I’m sure would not sit still for. At least, he would not sit still for the hard parts. I asked about cognitive training, but they are not convinced by the study I just linked. So the biggest thing they can do about dementia, if I get it, is social work sorts of support. Trump isn’t going to get better support than I would get, because he’s a difficult patient.

FTR, God forbid, He will be 80 in June.

Trump is an adherent to The Power Of Positive Thinking. He demonstrates daily that he believes if he says it, then it is true. So why not engage in a bit of ‘Positive Thinking’ on the Left?

The thing that does amaze me is that he doesn’t exercise, he eats all that KFC and McDonalds and Coke and steak. He is overweight and 79. He ought to be having heart disease and colon cancer, but the only healthy habit he has is that he doesn’t drink alcohol. So either he was gifted with amazing genes, or there’s some sort of medical treatment keeping all those diseases at bay that us common peons can’t get.

Here’s a current pic without obvious makeup (although there could be a light primer coat)

As an Old Person who lives in a place with other old people, I firmly believe that this matters more than (ahem, “trumps”) any diet/exercise/medication regimen.

Holy cow. :open_mouth: He absolutely looks his age there.

That’s actually the best looking picture of him I’ve ever seen.

But then, I usually think people look better without makeup.

Google obesity paradox.

Statistically, he should not have colon cancer, unless maybe if you just mean precancerous polyps.

As for heart disease of some sort, this is highly likely at his age:

American Heart Association

Not only do most American men his age have some sort of cardiovascular disease, most American men of his age, who are in better than average health for their age, have some sort of cardiovascular disease.

Tomorrow will be the second consecutive day on which Trump has no public appearances or media events scheduled - just the DIB, an unspecified private meeting, and “executive time” (Ie. watching TV).

He’s supposedly going to be making the rounds here in Corpus Christi on Friday, including a reported stop for lunch at our most famous fast food establishment, Whataburger on the Bay. I won’t be in attendance, as I just happen to be scheduled for surgery to have a kidney stone removed at that same time.

The surgery will probably be less painful and more pleasant, anyway.

Probably so.
