As of today, and as long as this thread stays active, what do you think the best evidence of Trump’s current health?
The WH has been less than forthcoming about various aspects - such as when his last negative test was. And it is not at all clear what - if any - official business he was conducting while in the hospital and since (or how that level of activity/inactivity compares to his “normal”.)
What have the millions been able to glean from the ether? Has he been tweeting? What signs - subtle or large - suggest any truths about his actual health.
I was hoping this would be a somewhat serious effort to discern any telling signs - but I expect the usual comments as to his baseline physical and mental health.
Physically- poor. Covid is going to do long term damage to him if it doesn’t come back and kill him.
Mentally- a total basket case. He should be in a room with padded walls and getting pills from Nurse Ratched.
Regarding the last negative test question, IMHO those asking it should be more specific. Are they referring to most recent negative test prior to his turning up positive, or is the question about whether his current test is negative?
As far as his current health, he’s clearly still suffering from the effects of COVID-19. I would classify his case as being of moderate severity based on what I’ve seen reported. I’ve treated many patients who were more acutely ill, who had more risk factors, are older, and who ended up doing just fine. He’ll probably be back to his usual self some time in the next two weeks.
Thanks for the responses. Are you able to cite the factors that contribute to your assessments?
I don’t watch Fox, or follow Twitter. I saw in the paper today that he was apparently tweeting during the VP debate. Have the manner/number his appearances changed since before the dx?
What indicators suggest medication side effects? (Hard to assess whether an irrational person is acting more/less irrationally!)
This is an interesting example to add to the long debate questioning the extent to which a President is competent to discharge his duties when ill/impaired, and the degree of openness the public is owed.
I have not been following too terribly closely, but my impression is that the questioners clearly WERE asking the former, trying to nail down the most likely time of exposure, and assess contact tracing. In reality, I strongly suspect they were asking BOTH, and were similarly stonewalled on both.
I don’t think there’s any reliable information available.
Trump isn’t laughing this off. He’s not dying either. He’s received several experimental therapies and VIP treatment. Basic info such as when did his first positive test result come are in doubt. Even a medical doctor who specializes in infectious respiratory diseases can only guess at the state of his health. Even his comorbidities are in doubt: I’ve seen a good analysis suggesting he has diabetes II, not being properly regulated (which affects thinking) but that’s just an educated guess; we don’t really know.
He’s the commander-in-chief and his health is important, but under the laws he can keep his health info private. While he has to see doctors annually, I don’t know if he’s required to release any info. (Can someone answer that for me?) It doesn’t seem to matter anyway. Trump writes his own public health report in an effort to look “strong” and “tough” so these reports lack credibility.
Yeah - a push/pull every time the CIC gets ill, requires surgery, etc. I saw in the paper that he was Tweeting during the VP debate, and I understand he called in to Fox, so he apparently hasn’t gone completely silent.
Any word on Melania? Was she given the same aggressive treatment Donnie Boy got?
Melanie is several years less old, a few pounds lighter, apparently less stressed out and not a coprophage (unless, well … eww …) so her risk factors are massively lower.
