What is Trump's current health?

Remember that Abe Vigoda site? Someone should start one for Individual-ONE.

“Live” interview with trump tonight on Tucker Carlson. Only it wasn’t live, it was filmed. And it was filmed by WH crew (Carlson said FOX wasn’t allowed to send their crew). Supposedly from the Oval Office, but clearly a green screen. FWIW.

27 September (Friday) @ Trump National.
26 September was the SCOTUS announcement thing.
29 September was the debate.

Seems he can be counted on for two golf outings a month.

Sounds like he made a healthy round of media appearances yesterday - if that is any sign. Seems to be well enough to focus on what he has always considered most important.

I’m resigning myself to the fact that come a nuclear holocaust, there will be two species that survive - cockroaches and Trump. And I’m not sure about the cockroaches.

The ones with electric blond hair will.

I would’ve put “healthy” in scare quotes myself.

But those weren’t “appearances.” He was on the phone. And then he was in that White-House produced video that may or may not have been green-screened (several articles this morning disputing that). I forced myself to listen to a bit of the Limbaugh thing, and I admit that trump did sound perfectly okay. He talked nonstop and finally Rush had to rush him off the phone.

Today he’s planning on doing a Mussolini impersonation from the WH balcony. Will the press be allowed? Will outside cameras with powerful zoom capability be allowed?

I hate it.

Guess what my name is.

He just held a rally before a thousand or two paid attendees* on the WhiteHouse lawn . He spoke for 18 minutes (because that was all the blank tape they had).

*transportation and lodging, at least

Do you have a cite for this?

There might be one.

This just in from WaPo:

In a memo released late Saturday, White House doctor Sean Conley said he assessed that Trump was “no longer considered a transmission risk to others” and that “the assortment of advanced diagnostic tests obtained reveal there is no longer evidence of actively replicating virus.”

The White House, which has provided only limited information about Trump’s health since he was released from Walter Reed on Monday, did not say that Trump has tested negative for the coronavirus, and it did not reveal the results of multiple tests Trump has taken since he got sick.

Sometimes I think those of us who loathe this Administration are too quick to assume the worst when facts are not yet in evidence, but I don’t think it takes any wishful thinking to see that they are hiding the truth here. If Trump was testing negative right now, they could just say so.

Actually I’m not sure what is keeping them from simply lying about it. Is this weaseling in any way morally superior? Hardly. And it’s only going to feed speculation that he’s unwell. At least an outright lie of “he’s fine, has been testing negative since day X” might quell the rumors for a little bit. Instead they are handing ammunition to skeptics who believe they are hiding something - since obviously, they are.

@CairoCarol

My understanding is that the only way you can not test negative but be out of the transmission stage is if it’s been 10 days since you last had symptoms, or 14 days since you tested positive. The former is impossible, so that would suggest Trump tested positive well before the release, by a lot.

Granted, I think it’s more likely the doctor is lying in a way they feel comfortable–blatant lie bad, but maybe compromise the truth a bit. Maybe Trump is past the most infectious stage. But, by saying it this way, they imply a rather large coverup.

The virus has merged its RNA with the ShitGibbon, so it is still there, they just cannot detect it because he tests positive as a viral strain himself.

Your understanding is wrong.

10 days from symptom onset and fever free over 24 hours and improving symptoms. Standard for release from quarantine.

Thanks.

Trucking blacks and Latinos into DC to attend a rally is a bit like shipping coal to New Castle. Although the local variety aren’t likely to give Trump the sort of reception they’re looking for.

It’s an old thread, but this is new and relevant:

Is this true? How common? Does insurance in the U.S., or any other country, pay for you to get a MRI for no reason except as part of a check-up?

Is this plausible? I would have thought that everyone has some narrowing by age 79 even if often of no clinical significance.

In a way, these are silly questions, because Trump is a dictator, and the dictator’s health status is a supreme state secret. But I post, in part, because others I respect here see it is as possible to see through the secrecy. And even I think it might be possible to spot some lies.

It is absolutely not true. MRIs are not a common preventative measure for any age group. They are done when a specific problem is known or at least suspected. What they are reporting is a lie.

Reuters: Trump says his MRI was part of a ‘very standard’ physical

Medical experts note that MRIs are not typically part of a routine physical. Doctors usually prescribe them to get detailed images of the spine, heart and vascular system, brain, knees, or other parts of the body.

They are definitely not recommended by anyone except private facilities who are trying to sell these scans to people vulnerable to bad medical advice.

University of Michigan: Whole-body MRIs aren’t as beneficial as they seem

While a whole-body MRI scan seems like a great preventative health tool from the outside, it might do more harm than good.

Patients that receive incidental findings from scans are at an increased risk of experiencing overtreatment, creating the illusion of benefits while, instead, causing harm to themselves.

At this time, there’s no proof that full-body MRIs bring enough preventive value to recommend everyone getting a scan.

MRIs are excellent for screening people at high risk of developing certain conditions and for evaluating how well a treatment has worked for someone.

Basically, nobody is recommending an MRI as a “preventative measure” for an otherwise healthy person unless they are scamming you. And they are generally considered to do more harm than good. If Trump got an MRI, I guarantee you that it was for a specific reason.

Absolutely not. From the OSU link above:

Many insurance carriers don’t cover MRIs unless it’s approved for detecting specific medical conditions.

The cost varies among different medical institutions and can range up to several thousands of dollars when paying out of pocket.
