So, what do I make with this stuff?

In a fit of PMT induced cravings, I made a big bowl of hummous from scratch (yup, soaked the dried chickpeas and everything) and now have a jar of tahini in my cupboard.

It has to be used by the end of this month. I have hummous coming out my ears, and I don’t know anything else requiring vast amonts of sesame seed pulp.

So, I turn to the straight dope.

Any dopers have recipes for tahini inclusive dishes?

The jar is sitting in my cupboard, and it’s neglected and resentful.

It’s mocking my culinary skills and looking at me funny.

I need your help to put a stop to this madness!

Baba Ganouj!

I doubt it has any other purpose.

I have a jar of tahini that is at least 5 years old. It comes out whenever I make hummous, which is about twice a year. It’s still more than half full.

Found something: Chinese Sesame Shrimp. That’s all I could google.

Go to http://allrecipes.com - top left hand corner is a place you can search by ingredient - click search by ingredient (this is important - don’t just search from the home page). You will get 29 recipes.

Tahini goes bad?

I second gonger’s sugesstion of baba ganouj. In a pinch it also makes a decent (albeit strong) spread for falafel.

Er, make that ginger’s sugesstion.
