Dr. Oz (I really do want to know about the Three Signs You’re Going to Die Any Minute, but later…)
Larry King (Just in case there’s someone I really want to see. So for a long time I would take the time to check before I deleted. Then, after awhile, when I realized that even if I wanted to see the guest, I really didn’t want to see them talking to Larry King, I just switched to automatically deleting it without even checking to see what it was I deleted)
Monk (I have no idea what’s going on here. I enjoy it when I watch it, but I’m never motivated to watch it.)
Highlander. I remember all my friends talking about how great it was, but I didn’t have a TV back then so I never saw it. I set a season pass for it, but every time I try to watch one, it’s unendurably cheesy.
I just bought a new Tivo - the Premier XL. It’s supposed to record up to 150 hours of HD TV.
Thing is, I don’t have HD TV, so it’s just doing normal TV. That gives us something like 1300 hours.
I record fookin’ everything, man. Doesn’t matter if I have no interest in watching it or not. The Tivo Suggestions folder has about 300 shows in it currently.
I used to record CSI: Miami and Without a Trace every week, but eventually came to realize that I’d stopped watching the shows a season or two before, and never did feel like catching up like I intended to.

[li]The Colbert Report - I’ll watch if someone interesting is on. [/li][li]Movies - I never have time to watch them it seems.[/li][li]Kids’ programs - I never watch them, and the 4 year-old can’t possibly watch the 30 hours of Handy Manny, et al. that stack up… though this might be outside the spirit of the OP.[/li][/ul]
Slight hijack: How many canceled programs do you still have Season Passes for? I’ve got at least four or five buried in there somewhere.
lots. My Tivo takes so long to process changes in season passes that I skip anything that isn’t necessary.
BTW: Yesterday after starting this thread I checked my Larry King recording, and found it was Willie Nelson, and I DID watch it, kinda…fast forwarded through things, but I like Willie.
Lost - 30 hours of unwatched episodes up to the present. Should I bother?
Modern Family - I hear it’s good, but I haven’t started watching it yet.
Caprica - Is it worth watching?
I replace the HD with a 500 GB, so I get pretty lazy about actually watching what’s on it.
We always record a ton of House Hunters, but only watch maybe 1 in 5. Most of them are either too bizarre (Nicaragua? Who wants to live there?) or too low in price for us to care. We both like looking at houses but hate how dumb people are “oh, the fridge comes with this? oh that’ll save us a LOT of money”
Gossip Girl we never watch - we missed a few episodes by forgetting to set up the series recording on DVR awhile ago, and now we just haven’t caught up.
I have recorded a bunch of (don’t laugh) The View because at one point someone I wanted to see interviewed was going to be on and it was easier just to get a season pass. I just keep forgetting to delete the season pass and I never watch the show.
Saturday Night Live.
I record it and then if there is any buzz on a skit, digital short, or musical performance during the week I can check it out.
If I don’t here anything it gets deleted by Wednesday.
I stopped recording Heroes, because I never got back into it.
I stopped recording Parenthood, because I never watched any of them.
L&O:SVU
Cash Cab
Plenty of others that I can’t remember…
My DVR is still recording V, which I haven’t watched since last fall. And “Mantracker” although I did actually watch one of the episodes last night (since The Amazing Race wasn’t on).
My kids, if they’re in the middle of a show when we call them away from the TV, now press “Record.” So I have a lot of half-watched shows from the Disney Channel and Nick Jr.
I have tried recording the Daily Show, and while I always enjoy it if I watch it when it’s on, if it’s recorded it just builds up until my husband complains. I’ve tried a couple of different times, but they build up so FAST.
I have every episode of this season of FlashForward hanging out on my TiVo. I just can’t be bothered to watch it, but I’m letting the folder fill up in case I’m really desperate to watch something new someday. I liked the first season ok, but didn’t love it. Anyone watching this season?
I have a TiVo HD XL (1TB hard drive), and when I first got it I didn’t have HD TV yet, either. I was giddy about the amount of regular TV I could store.
Both of those shows are on my “watch as soon as they’re recorded” (or, sometimes with Lost, when enough has been recorded that I can skip the commercials) list. Love 'em.
I’m still watching Flash Forward, Misnomer. It’s not bad and has actually gotten better since the hiatus. Still wish they’d drop the story-line of the recovering alcoholic and his daughter.
